Spanish 1 story for LICT chapter 4

Mark estaba emocionado.  Iba a su primer Prom, y tenía una cita (date)—la chica más hermosa en toda la escuela.  Se llamaba Jennifer.  Mark quería un traje muy hermoso porque quería impresionar a Jennifer. Por eso, Mark fue a la tienda Ralph Lauren para comprar un traje muy hermoso.

Mark was excited.  He was going to his first Prom, and he had a date--the most beautiful girl in the whole school.  Her name was Jennifer.  mark wanted a very beautiful suit because he wanted to impress Jennifer.  Therefore, Mark went to Ralph Lauren to buy a really beautiful suit.

            Cuando Mark entró por la puerta, vio muchos trajes.  Había trajes blancos, trajes negros, trajes cafés, trajes azules—muchísimos trajes.  Mark no sabía cuál traje  comprar, así que le buscó un dependiente.

               When Mark entered through the door, he saw many suits.  There were white suits, black suits, brown suits, blue suits--a whole lot of suits.  Mark didn't know which suit to buy, so he looked for a clerk.

            Había muchos dependientes en la tienda, pero todos ayudaban a los otros chicos.  Pero después de un rato (after a while), Mark encontró a un dependiente que no ayudaba a nadie.  Mark le pidió ayuda al dependiente, y el dependiente lo ayudó.

             There were many clerks in the store, but they were all helping the other kids.  But after a wile, Mark found a clerk that wasn't helping anyone.  Mark asked the clerk for help and the clerk helped him.

            Mark quería un traje hermoso, y el dependiente le dijo que el traje más hermoso en la sección de trajes era un traje anaranjado y morado.  Cuando se probó el traje, Mark le dijo – No es hermoso.  ¡El traje es muy feo!—  El dependiente le dijo –Me dices que es feo, pero es porque tú eres chico.  A las chicas les gusta mucho.  Él le llamó a una dependienta –¡Mariana! ¿Te gusta el traje?—  Mariana le dijo –¡Sí! ¡Es muy hermoso!—

              Mark wanted a beautiful suit, and the clerk told him that the most beautiful suit in the suit section was an orange and purple suit.  When he tried on the suit, Mark told him, "It isn't beautiful.  The suit is really ugly!"  The clerk told him, "You tell me that it's ugly, but it's because you're a boy.  The girls like it a lot.  He called to a (girl) clerk.  "Mariana!  Do you like the suit?"  Mariana told him, "Yes!  It's very beautiful!

            Mark creyó (thought) que la chica era muy bonita, y él decidió comprar el traje.  Él regresó a su casa, se puso el traje y luego fue a la casa de su amiga Jennifer.

              Mark thought that the girl was very pretty, and he decided to buy the suit.  He returned to his house, put on the suit, and then went to his friend Jennifer's house.

            Cuando Mark entró por la puerta de Jennifer, la chica ¡casi vomitó!  --Mark, ¡el traje es horrible!  No voy al prom contigo.  ¡Vete de aquí! (Get out of here)  Pobre Mark regresó a la casa. 

             When Mark entered through Jennifer's door, the girl almost threw up!  "Mark, the suit is horrible!  I'm not going to the prom with you.  Get out of here!  Poor Mark returned to his house.

             En la tienda Ralph Lauren, el dependiente le dijo –¡Muchísimas gracias!— a Mariana.  –El chico tonto sí compró el traje feísimo.  ¡Me ayudaste mucho!—El dependiente le dio diez dólares a la chica por su ayuda.  ¡Qué malos dependientes!  

              At Ralph Lauren, the clerk siad, "Thanks very much!" to Mariana.  "The stupid boy did buy the really ugly suit.  You helped me a lot!"  The clerk gave $10 to the girl for her help.  What evil clerks!
