Hansel and Gretel rewrite--guest post by Anouk Berends

I wanted to share this story that Anouk Berends made.  She took my story of Hansel and Gretel  http://meggiev777.blogspot.com/2013/10/a-retelling-of-hansel-and-gretel.html  and made it her own.  That's what my hope has been with this blog--that you use my stories and redesign them so they fit your needs!

Here's Anouk's story:

This is the story from Hansel and Gretel: I named them, Carlota y Pedro Había dos hermanos que se llamaban Carlota y Pedro. Queremos comer."
There were a brother and sister named CArlota and Pedro. Their parents had no money. They were very ppoor. One day, the father told them, "Let's go to the forest," The three went to the forest and after an hour, Carlota and Pedro wanted to eat. They told him, "Dad, we're hungry and cold. Please, can you make a fire? We want to eat."
The father told them, "Look, I have bread, but I don't have firewood. While I'm looking for firewood, you can eat a little of the bread. Then, when I come back, I want to eat a little of the bread, too. Then you won't eat it all.
"Okay, Dad, we won't eat it all."
“¿Has visto aquella casa alguna vez?”, dijo Pedro.
But two hours later, the dad still had not arrived. The brother and sister were sleepy and wanted to return home, and they went to look for their father.
Peter said, "Where's Dad? I don't like this situations."
"Me either. Look!" shouted Carlota. "Over there. There is a house."
"Have you seen that house before?" asked Pedro. They siblings had gone to the forest many times and had never seen that house.
Era una casa especial. La casa era de ¡puro chocolate! “No quiero volver a casa”, dijo Carlota.
It was a special house. The house was pure chocolate!
"I don't want to go home," said Carlota.
"Me either," said Pedro.
Pedro and Carlota were eating a little of the chocolate when suddenly they saw something. A person was talking on the phone. Pedro and Carlota were curious. Who was talking on the phone? It was a witch! And the witch wasn't talking on the phone, she was talking on a very small cell phone--a really tiny cell phone made of chocolate!
Estamos buscando a nuestro padre. Tenemos miedo.”
Pedro and Carlota had never seen a chocolate cell phone, and they had never seen such a small cell phone. The witch saw them and grabbed them. Pedro and Carlota said to her, "Please, Mrs. Witch, help us! We are looking for our father. We don't know where he is. We were hungry and so we ate all the chocolate. We don't want to go in your house. We're afraid.
Pedro y Carlota volvieron a casa. Y su padre, ¿dónde estaba? ¿Estaría en casa?
The witch said, "Abracadabra, the children are going to retreat to their house so they can eat!"
Pedro and Carlota returned home.
And their father, where was he? Was he at home?
